Abraham Bergman co-founded Eastern Union, in collaboration with Ira Zlotowitz. As a current managing partner, Abraham plays a leadership role in numerous transactions covering the full spectrum of asset categories. He specializes in deal execution, title issues, financial structuring, abatement and vacancy issues, reserves, and other dimensions of real estate financing. Abraham specializes in the healthcare and hospitality sectors, often leading transactions which involve construction financing. Among his recent career highlights, Abraham arranged a $34 million refinancing for a four-building, 580-bed skilled nursing portfolio in New York and New Jersey. He also assisted a client by acting rapidly to increase an acquisition and rehabilitation loan from $24 to $34 million in the aftermath of a flood at the client’s hotel.
Prior to founding Eastern Union, Abraham was employed by Meridian Capital. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Touro College and successfully passed the uniform CPA Exam. He also obtained a Masters of Business Administration from Baruch College.
Abraham is the president and a founding member of his community synagogue and is deeply involved in an organization that assists families experiencing infertility and other medical issues.
