Yes, you must be fingerprinted for a criminal records check at the state and federal levels. Your background check must be submitted within 10 days of turning in your salesperson exam application.

You are required to use a Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI&I) approved Webcheck® user. You must schedule with the vendor and provide them with your reason codes the address of the Division of Real Estate for them to send the background check results.

Your background check results should be sent to the Ohio Division of Real Estate within 30 days of your fingerprinting submission.

The specific fees for your fingerprinting and background check will vary between the vendors. A typical cost for state and FBI checks ranges from 58 to $71. Some vendors have posted their prices on the approved Webcheck® location list.
