What happens if I do not renew my NH license on time?
If your renewal is submitted late, it is considered expired. You can renew up to six months after expiration by paying the renewal fee plus a late fee. For renewals submitted six months to one year late, you need to pay the fees and a written explanation for why the lapse and arguing there was good cause (such as serious accident, circumstances beyond control, etc). If you do not renew within a year, you will be considered an original applicant and will need to start the process over.
