What happens if I do not renew my OK license on time?
Anyone who fails to renew their Oklahoma salesperson license on time or does not meet their continuing education requirement by the renewal date will be changed to a lapsed status. You will not be permitted to work as a real estate salesperson on a lapsed license. You can also put your license into inactive status until you meet your continuing education requirements. You can submit any status changes in the license portal.
If you renew your license that has been in a lapsed state for less than one year, you can do so through the portal. You will have to pay additional fees for the late renewal. If it has been lapsed for between one to three years, you'll need to submit a reinstatement application and pay the additional fees. You also have fees to meet the examination and background check requirements.
Any license that has been lapsed for more than three years is effectively expired, and you must submit a new application for licensure through the application portal.
