Can I get my Washington broker license if I live in another state?

Yes, you can apply for a Washington real estate broker license even if you live in another state. You will still need to be licensed under a designated broker and affiliated with a brokerage licensed in Washington.

If you already hold a license in another state, you will only need to pass the Washington law portion of the state real estate license exam and you may be exempt from the pre-licensure education requirements. However, you will need to upload your license history from the other state where you are licensed when making your application after setting up your SecureAccess Washington Account. Once you have uploaded this information, you will receive an email instructing you how to set up your real estate broker exam.

You will still need to submit your fingerprints. Outside Washington, you will need to call Real Estate Regulatory at 360-664-6484 to arrange your fingerprinting for background checks.
