Yes, you are required to be fingerprinted as part of the salesperson licensing process. You will need to make a request for a background check packet with the Iowa Real Estate Commission using My Iowa PLB. The IREC will mail you a fingerprinting packet within 3 to 10 business days. You'll need to schedule a fingerprinting appointment and follow all the instructions in the packet. Once received by the IREC, your background check results are valid for 210 days. Try and complete the entire application process within that time frame.
