Does Maine have a reciprocity agreement with other states?

Maine does not have any specific reciprocal licensing agreements, but it does allow anyone who is a current inactive real estate license holder and another state to apply and be issued a license once they meet certain requirements.

Maine allows current real estate license holders to apply for a reciprocal license. You need to: ● Be at least 18 years old when you apply ● Have a high school diploma or its equivalent ● Pass the Maine Law examination administered by Pearson VUE ●Verification of licensure from any states you hold a real estate license

You must follow the same steps as a Maine resident to earn a sales agent license. All non-residents must still be affiliated with a Maine licensed real estate agency to perform brokerage activities in the state.
