The South Carolina Real Estate Commission has contracted with PSI to provide examinations for real estate licensure through a network of computer exam centers in South Carolina.
Before scheduling your exam, you must apply to take the South Carolina Real Estate license exam through the South Carolina Real Estate Commission. To do so, visit the commission’s online application portal. From there, you will be able to make your application, including the uploading of supporting materials, and pay the initial application fee of $25. Once you have submitted your application to take the exam, you can expect to receive your letter of exam eligibility via email in about five to seven business days. Your eligibility is good for one year.
You can then go onto the PSI website to register an account and schedule your exam. You will be required to provide your email as well as your first and last name. Be sure that the way you enter your name is the same as it appears on information you have provided the commission. Check the box indicating you wish the PSI system to attempt to locate existing records for you.
You will then be able to select the exam and enter your social security number. Your record will be found using this information. At that point, you can enter your zip code to see a list of testing sites nearest you. Once you have selected your test location, you will be provided with a list of available dates. Registering online is recommended for the fastest and most convenient exam-scheduling process. You will need a valid credit card for payment of your fees.
However, if you prefer to register and schedule by phone, you may call 800-733-9267 to speak to a PSI registrar Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 10 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday, between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., ET.

If you opt to register by mail, you can expect it to take up to two weeks to process your registration, which will be necessary before you will be able to call to schedule your exam time. If you opt to register by fax or by standard mail, you will still need to call PSI AT 855-340-3701 to schedule your exam date and time. For that reason, most candidates will find registering and scheduling by phone or online to be the most efficient route to take.
The fee is $63 for taking both portions of the exam. If you are only required to take one portion, the fee is $55. If you have any questions about the exam, you can contact PSI at the number above or via email at examschedule@psionline.com.
