How far in advance do I need to schedule my SC state licensing exam?

When you register on the PSI exam website and go through the process to schedule your exam, you will be presented with available dates at the location that you select. Because appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, the amount of advance time necessary depends on the number of candidates who select the same day and time.

For that reason, it is advisable to schedule your exam as far ahead of your desired date as possible, to improve the chances of availability. At the same time, depending on availability, your test could be scheduled as early as the next testing day.

Keep in mind if you need to reschedule an exam because you need to retake all or a portion of it, you will not be able to schedule your appointment on the day you have tested unsuccessfully. It takes time for processing and reporting of scores. You will be able to call or go online the following day and retest as quickly as the following day, depending on space availability.

For example, if you were unsuccessful in passing the exam on Monday, you could call as early as Tuesday and reschedule your exam for Wednesday, if space allows.
