You are not guaranteed to be issued a license even if you complete the necessary steps and meet the basic requirements. The South Carolina Real Estate Commission will also consider your character and criminal background before it makes a determination on issuing you a license.
Every application is considered on an individual basis. Even if you have a criminal history, there are still a number of factors the commission will take into account in determining whether to accept your application. Examples of what may be considered include the level of conviction, age of the conviction, and relevance to real estate, if any.
