What are the CE requirements for active licensees in DE?

You will submit an online renewal application in DELPROS, Delaware's Department of Professional Licensing online professional licensure system. You need to log in to your account, answer several questions, and use a credit card to pay the renewal fee.

A Delaware salesperson license renewal fee is $197. If you renew late, you will have to pay an additional 50% of the renewal fee.

Your Delaware real estate salesperson license is good for two years. Licenses Renew on April 30 of all even-numbered years, like 2022, 2024, etc.

The DREC publishes a chart showing how many education hours to complete for the first renewal, depending on when you received your license. In addition, you must complete four Newly Licensed Salesperson modules within the first year of being licensed.

Inactive license holders do not need to keep up with continuing education until they decide to resume active status. At that point, you will need to make up your continuing education hours.

Currently active real estate professionals will need to complete 21 hours of continuing education between May 1 and April 30 of even number years. The courses you take must be based on the module course content published by the Delaware Real Estate Commission.

To maintain an inactive real estate license, you must renew it in the DELPROS system before the April 30 expiration date. Renewal keeps your license in inactive status for two more years. No CE is required at the time of renewal. You are not allowed to practice in Delaware while your license is inactive.

The Delaware Department of Professional Licensing will email a notice to you a few months before expiration. It will have information about the renewal. Make sure you keep your email contact updated in the DELPROS system.

Your license expires if you don't renew by April 30 of an even-numbered year. You will not be able to practice real estate in Delaware. You can file a late renewal application for up to 60 days and pay the late fee. This late renewal is not a "grace period."

You may file a late license renewal application up to 60 days after the expiration date in DELPROS. You must pay a late fee in addition to the renewal fee that is 50% of the renewal fee. If you don't renew by the end of the 60-day late renewal period, your salesperson license will no longer be renewable.
