What happens if my license expires while I am on military active duty?

A licensee who is a member of the National Guard or Reserve and gets called to active duty whose license expires during their active duty period are eligible for accommodations in renewing their expired license.

The licensee will not need to pay late fees or other penalties. They will also not need to obtain continuing education credits if active duty status prevented them from doing so and they have provided the Tennessee Real Estate Commission with a waiver request. Although unlikely, continuing education credits can also be waived if the licensee provides sufficient documentation showing he or she performed real estate services as part of their military duties.

Military members have six months to renew their license following their release from active duty. Evidence of active duty status must be provided to the Tennessee Real Estate Commission prior to renewal.
