Once you pass the Virginia state licensing exam, you can then get fingerprinted and submit your Salesperson License Application. You must get fingerprinted at the PSI testing center. It is recommended that you get fingerprinted after completing the state exam, rather than before. It takes up to 4-6 weeks for to process your fingerprints and submit them to the Board. In the meantime, you can mail or fax your Salesperson License Application to the Board, with the help of your sponsoring broker. Your fingerprints cannot be older than 45 days from the date they are received by the Board until the date your license application is received. Also, you must apply for your VA real estate license within one year of your first attempt at the state licensing exam.
