What are the requirements for applying for a broker license in WA?

In order to apply for a real estate broker license in Washington, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Earn a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Complete 90 hours of approved real estate education anytime within the past two years prior to applying for the exam. This education must include:
    • A 60-hour course in Real Estate Fundamentals.
    • A 30-hour course in Real Estate Practices.
    • The real estate education requirements will be waived for qualified applicants currently licensed in another state. However, proof of equivalent course completion is required.
  • Be ready to answer legal and criminal background questions and provide additional documentation, if needed.
